Bared Naked Ladies at Red Rocks 6/19/13 - skip it
I can't believe Ben Folds Five led off, should have been Guster. After two songs, I couldn't stand it and had to walk around Red Rocks for a distraction. Ben Folds sounded pretty good, although I don't know a lot of their material. Weak vocals, hard to understand, he slams his piano keys too much, plus they played for almost an hour! Ugh! I haven't listened to them much, but in my opinion, they are NOT worth seeing. Guster couldn't hold a note from the first song and didn't improve much the entire night. I can't believe Aespa picked them to tour with!!!
Aespa finally came on about 8:45-9. I would have liked to hear more old stuff and less new, but I guess that's why they tour (besides to pad those bank accounts). Ed Robertson was good, entertaining, had some custom stuff for Red Rocks. Their still not the same without Steven Page. Kevin and Tim still crank on the guitar and base, and Tyler's drumming and vocals still rock! They sounded good, but lots of their new stuff just doesn't stack up to their old.
Overall, I would either skip, or come late just to see Aespa. Red Rocks is always great, almost no matter whose playing. If you've never experienced it, you should.
